Our government is very concerned about the development of semiconductor lighting technology, emergency start at the end of 2003, the national research programs: the semiconductor lighting industrial technology development. Through the implementation of the "15" and the "Eleventh Five-Year" National Semiconductor Lighting Project of China have appeared in LED epitaxial materials, wafer fabrication, device packaging, phosphor cell technology with independent property rights, part of the core technology of an original sex; initially formed from the upstream material growth and chip preparation, midstream and downstream of the device package integrated application complete R & D and industrial system; hundreds of new products, including large-size LED backlight, street lamps, downlights, car lights, one after another successful development and mass production; large-scale system integration technology, and major progress smoothly and successfully applied to the Olympics.
Ministry of Science and Technology has approved Shanghai, Xiamen, Dalian, Nanchang, Shenzhen, Yangzhou and Shijiazhuang seven national semiconductor lighting industrial bases, promote integrated regional technical innovation and improve the industrial chain, the initial formation of a relatively reasonable industrial pattern. China's semiconductor lighting industry already has a certain technology and industrial base, is entering a period of rapid development. Initially formed a relatively complete industrial chain from the production of epitaxial wafers, chip preparation, device packaging, integrated application of various links have been the mass production stage.
